Dekaron SEA New Event

Glorious new promo from the guys of Team Dekaron. Check it out.

It’s all about EXP Boost this Lenten Season. Boom, baby.

The Age of Dekaron

It has been a year since I started working in mobiusgames (DME). From my first day at work, our team was tasked with marketing two new games that will change the playing field of online games for the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Regardless of other people’s opinions, there are some indubitable facts which the local gaming industry MUST acknowledge: GONG! and Dekaron started the trend that got the competition scrambling for new titles, much like MU Philippines did years ago.

Dekaron Commissioned Quests Guide

Hello, boiatches. Still not getting any, I see.

Anyway, I’ve been noticing a lot of search results that’s been generating traffic to this site is related to Dekaron Commissioned Quests. It’s funny coz I never posted any comprehensive guide to Dekaron Commisssioned Quests here, except, well, a mention in passing. See, when I used to work for mobiusgames, blogging those kind of stuff was actually part of my job. Now that I’m focusing on a different career path (for the time), I’ve taken it slow when it comes to writing guides and tips.

But since you insist, I guess I can afford to spare some time and write a little something about Dekaron Commissioned Quests.

Endgame for Siege in London

Hello, everyone! Today is my last day here in the United Kingdom. I’ll be flying back home in a couple of hours, and although I’ll be on air technically for just 16 hours, the time difference and the longitudinal crossing costs me an entire day (24 hours and 45 minutes, actually!) to travel.

Anyway, first, I just want to apologize for the disappointment I’ve caused with the rarity of my postings. I haven’t been posting as often as I should, and I’ve been monitoring the traffic to this blog regularly, and I see regular visitors flocking in. I apologize because you’re giving your time to check out my blog, and the least I can do is give you something to read, but I failed at that. Sorry.

Well, I’m not saying this gives me an excuse, but I do have my reasons. First, I’ve been really, really, really busy being part of the world’s geekiest rockband. I toured the UK with a bunch of other artists from Asia and London, performing in different cities. Rarely did we stop for more than 2 days in any place in our tour, and althought it was absofuckinglutely awesome, it was physically exhausting as well.

Second, I uninstalled all my games in my laptop because I can’t be distracted from what I’m doing here. PLUS, my laptop can’t play DEKARON. OOOh, shock of shock. The truth is, my Toshiba Satellite laptop is struggling with Dekaron’s specs which is why I sneak off my sister’s laptop (an Acer Inspire, I think) just so I can enjoy “the most motherfuckin bad-ass video game experience online”, according to various sources).

Anyway, now that I’m going back to the Philippines, I’ll be able to start playing video games again, and perhaps, I’ll start blogging about them as well.

Well… let’s, see how motivated I will be in the next couple of days. I don’t wanna sound like a dick, but you have to realize that blogging takes some of my precious writing time, writing time I can spend writing something else, something like the sequel to my successful novel, so in essence, blogging actually costs me money. You may think writing is easy because you get to do it sitting down, but if you do think that way, you obviously hasn’t written anything decent in your life.

———

Anyway, I was walking along Trafalgar Square one day, when I came across a big gathering. Lavish tents were set-up, and a stage was smack in the middle for bands and artists to perform in. A man handed me a flyer, and I realized, I’ve just walked into the London Game Fest!

How awesome is that?

EA games had set up all these activity booths for gamers to enjoy. There were several spots for testing their game titles, including some activity areas for non-gamers to experience what it’s like to play EA Games.

The best part? It’s absolutely FREE!

See, last time I came to a gaming event in the Philippines, I had to pay for a magazine, or buy some of their in-game credits. That sucks. I’ve worked in the gaming industry before, in the marketing aspect of it, and the truth is, events are held to promote the titles in order to achieve certain objectives (like brand retention, consumer conversion, etc) which would then translate to revenue for the company. It shouldn’t be a milking cow to earn a couple of bucks just because kids are willing to pay for it. It’s madness, really. There are structures that the organizers can take, such as looking for co-sponsors to shoulder the expenses, without making the consumers pay extra just to see some crappy “cosplay fashion show” where the same bunch of skanky ugly betties win everytime anyway. That’s like having to pay just to watch advertisements starring Tado in a bikini.

What do you think? Should game publishers extract exorbitant fees just to let people participate in their events? Do you think a gaming event will be more successful if it’s free? I’d like to hear what you think.

Dekaron SEA on OPEN BETA

Dekaron SEA now on Open Beta beginning September 3, 10AM (Philippine Time) – That means 10 AM in the Philippines, not 10 AM “Filipino Time” hahaha…

That’s less than a day away, chumps. Maybe you think you’re ready for this, but nothing can prepare you for the most motherfucking bad-ass awesome gaming experience you can have online.

BTW, you’d have to pardon me whenever I get too excited and I start cursing out expletives. I’ll censor myself, don’t worry. Like fuck, yeah.

I’ll answer some frequently asked questions, that’ll put my job at risk. Hahaha…

Will there be a server wipe-out after the OBT? NO. I’ve told you before, THERE’S GOING TO BE NO SERVER WIPEOUT after the OBT.

Dekaron OBT – It’s a date!

I was with Arnold, our Project Manager for Dekaron, on my way up to the office this morning, and I asked him if I can start announcing when the OBT’s for The Most Motherfuckin’ Bad-Ass Anticipated MMORPG of the Year starting, and he said, “Why not?”

So, ladies and gentlemen, if you had been reading The Dekaron Blog for quite some time, let me just confirm to you that YES, the OBT’s going to start this September 3 (well, if things go as planned, of course. I’ll tell you IN ADVANCE if there’s any change in this).

And NO, there will be no character wipe after the OBT.

Mark your calendars, kids. Mark it with your own blood. Coz Dekaron‘s comin’ back, and this time there’ll be hell to pay.

Dekaron is The Most Anticipated MMORPG of the Year, and has been hailed all over the world as an international bestselling game title for its visually stunning graphics and extreme action gameplay.
